What is a whole vs half share of pork?
1
It is way to directly buy your meet from a small farmer like us. You will know how it was raised, where it was raised, how was it fed, how was it treated, and how it made it to your table. The whole share is the entire pig,, all cuts, and fat included. Half share would be half of all the meat available on the hog.
How much freezer space do I need?
2
A whole share of pork requires 5-7 sq. feet of space. We raise them big so plan on the upper end of it. Plan on it completely filling a 7 sq. ft. chest freezer. Half share would be 3. 5 sq. ft. or a half of chest freezer. For reference, most top/bottom freezers on your fridge at home are around 4 sq. ft. which will house a half a hog quite nicely.
